Vote for OAR Every Day this Month for Project Kitty Litter!

OAR has an entry in the $25,000 Neighborhood grant portion of the Pepsi Refresh Project for September - Project Kitty Litter.

The goal of Project Kitty Litter is to reduce cat overpopulation (and thus euthanasia) by providing low-cost spay/neuter for cats and their litters.

Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic (OAR) will provide $25 surgeries and free rabies shots for the mother.  The kittens will also be fixed at a cost of $5 each and given a distemper shot.

We plan to fix at least 125 litters (estimating 1 adult plus 4 kittens per litter). We will offer these services to those who call our OAR number to ask for help in placing kittens, those who place ads for free kittens, and to feral colony caretakers who borrow humane traps from OAR. One unaltered female cat and her offspring can produce more than 100 cats in seven years. Project Kitty Litter will save over 10,000 lives by stopping the cycle of overpopulation.

In order for OAR to receive the grant, we must finish in the top 10 vote-getters in our category. We can do this only with your help.

You can vote once a day here:
http://www.refresheverything.com/projectkittylitter for up to 10 projects.

We're competing against all other $25,000 grant projects so please use your other votes for $5,000, $50,000, or $250,000 projects!

Even if we don't make it in to the top 10 this month, getting into the top 100 automatically qualifies us to be in the hunt again for next month.

Kitten season lasts well into the fall so the money would be well used even in September.

Please vote every day this month and ask your friends to do the same!
