Joanie, Jeanne and Howard Bernard Foundation donates another $50K
Benefactor Joan Bernard presented another check for $50,000 during a visit to the cats on July 20. The money will be used for transport van maintenance and shelter and feral cat care. Joan, her advisers and OAR board members celebrated with a cake decorated with a photo of Joan holding Madison, a black kitten who found a Forever Home last year. An earlier donation from the foundation enabled OAR to buy the van used for spay/neuter transports. We thank the Bernard Foundation again for its generosity!

Clinic Discounts for Kenton County, Madisonville Residents
Thanks to a generous donation, Kenton County Animal Shelter is joining with OAR’s clinic to provide $10 spay/neuter-rabies vaccine packages to Kenton County residents. Even better, the Neuterville Express will pick up and drop off cats at several county locations through early September. More information... Residents also can call 513-871-0185 to set up an appointment for another date.
OAR has received $23,385 from PetSmart Charities® to offer $12 surgeries to fix pet cats, strays and ferals in Madisonville. Appointments are available now; call 513-871-0185. As part of the grant requirements, we’re polling the neighborhood to verify estimates about the number of cats needing spay/neuter. Madisonville residents can help by filling out a survey on our website.
More Neuterville Express runs are scheduled for Aug. 5 in Harrison and Aug. 17 in Spring Grove Village. Call 513-871-0185 to reserve a spot.
Max & Erma’s Fundraiser / Aug 12th
Download a flier, and bring it with you to the Max & Erma’s at Rookwood Commons on Aug. 12 for lunch, dinner or carryout, and OAR will receive 20 percent of the sale. More info...
Keep Voting for Project Kitty Litter
OAR has a shot at $25,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project. Keep voting daily for our Project Kitty Litter spay/neuter proposal to push us into the top 10 this month. You can also text 100239 to Pepsi (73774) from a mobile phone. Standard texting rates apply. (If we don’t make the top 10 but stay ranked in the top 100 in August, we’ll still be in the running in September.)
OAR Success Story / Sammy
Good news! Sammy, the brown tabby with the bobbing head who was a favorite of volunteers, was adopted at the end of July. More good news: The Possets perfume named after him is on sale for two weeks at www.Possets.com (along with the fragrance Forever Home) and will then be retired. Because OAR gets $5 for every bottle sold (thanks to perfumer Fabienne Christensen's generosity), Sammy's former roommates benefit from his adoption, too!
If you’ve adopted from us, or know someone who has, please share the Success Story (and photos!) with us at info@ohioalleycat.org.
