Only 250 raffle tickets will be sold for this beautiful 1975 BMW R90.
The bike currently resides in the garage of its second owner, who purchased it in
1979. The bike has the original tank and seat, along with a full faring, long handle bars and the necessary cables to make that setup work.
The photo shows the bike wearing a 9.2 gallon German Hein Gericke tank, with a custom seat that fits the larger tank, a sport faring and short bars.
The bike will be raffled with both set-ups, one is nice for short trips and the
other for longer road trips. It also has hard saddle bags (not show in the photo).
The bike has been garaged since purchased - except for nights on the road. The longest trip was a 5,400 mile trip up the east coast of the US and onto Nova
Scotia, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and back. The owner
took that trip in 1980 and reports that he never had more fun.
Since then it has been ridden on day trips and the odd weekend jaunt to a BMW motorcycle rally.
The bike runs great. It has been lovingly maintained, has good tires etc. If it weren't for the owner's dedication to OAR, he would keep the bike for another 30 years. The bike has never been down, except that time it was knocked it over in the garage - the faring in the photo has a hairline crack as a result of that bump. This motorcycle is a cross between a machine and a cat. It purrs, it's very quick and nimble, and it makes you feel good just to have it in your house.
